The City of Martinez has five sister-city affiliations with Dunbar, Scotland; Hanchuan, China; Isola delle Femmine, Italy; Milazzo, Italy; and Stresa, Italy. A sister-city is a broad-based long-term partnership between two communities in two countries. A relationship is officially recognized after the highest elected or appointed official from both communities sign off on an agreement to become sister cities.

Dunbar, Scotland, UK
The town of Dunbar, Scotland is on the North Sea coast of East Lothian, about 30 miles east of Edinburgh. The town is renowned for its high sunshine record, rugged coastline and attractive countryside. It is steeped in history and was one of the most important Scottish fortresses in the middle ages.
Hanchuan, China
Hanchuan, China's urban area is located on the left bank of the Han River a few tens of kilometers upstream from Wuhan. However, the county-level city as an administrative unit also includes some land on the right bank of the river as well. The city has been served by the Hanchuan Railway Station on the new Wuhan-Yichang Railway.
Isola delle Femmine, Italy
Isola delle Femmine, Italy is a commune in Palermo Province in Sicily. It is located on the Mediterranean coast in northwestern Sicily. Inhabitants of this community immigrated to the United States originally settling in California, primarily in Black Diamond (present day Pittsburg) or to a lesser extent in the neighboring community of Martinez.
Milazzo, Italy
Milazzo, Italy is a substantial town on the coast of north-east Sicily, west of Messina, and best known for its castle that is surrounded by walls with round towers. The town is the point of reference of a vaste territory, from Villafranca Tierrena to Patti. The port of Milazzo is a departure point for ferries to the Aeolian Islands and Naples.
Stresa, Italy
The famous town of Stresa, Italy enjoys a splendid location on Lake Maggiore in the Gulf of Borromeo, where it overlooks the eponymous islands, the main attraction in the region. Its beautiful countryside, architectural gems and mild climate combine to make Stresa one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy.
