Movies in the Park
Movies in the Park is a free community event that brings together film enthusiasts of all ages for an outdoor cinematic experience. We will offer 3 movie nights at Nancy Boyd Park during the Summer season. Pre-Event Activities will begin at 6pm and the movie will begin at dusk somewhere between 8:30pm and 9:00pm. Attendees often bring blankets, chairs, and picnic baskets to make themselves comfortable while watching the movie on a large screen. It's a fantastic way for families, friends, and neighbors to bond over shared entertainment in a relaxed and communal setting.
Community Health Fair
The Community Health Fair (formerly: Senior Health Fair) is a half day event designed to provide the community with access to information, resources, and services aimed at promoting good health and well-being. Vendors from a wide range of organizations provide information on nutrition, exercise, preventive care, as well as opportunities to connect with local healthcare providers and community support services.
Martinez Youth Baseball Parade
Opening day in Martinez! Our local baseball and softball teams kick off the spring season with a downtown parade. Teams walk the parade route in uniform, with their team banner, coaches, and cheers from the crowd!
Arbor Day
A day to beautify Martinez and celebrate nature. The event will include a small ceremony followed by the planting of trees and other activities. Please make sure to wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen, bring a hat and gloves. Registration is required for this event.
Memorial Day/Veterans Day
Celebrating the fallen at our historic Alhambra Cemetery followed by a gathering at Ignacio Plaza. The Veterans Commission, Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter and local eagle scouts, highlight this event with ceremonial performances and solemn words from our city council.
July 4th Fireworks Show
The July 4th Fireworks show, sponsored by the City of Martinez, is set to dazzle spectators at the Waterfront Park Martinez Shoreline. This spectacular 20-minute show promises a breathtaking display of lights and colors in the night sky. Open to the public, this event offers a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to come together and celebrate. Best of all, attending is free to make it accessible to everyone in the community. Join us at the Martinez Shoreline for a memorable Independence Day celebration under the stars!
Pumpkin Dunkin'

Holiday Frolic
Martinez’s annual holiday celebration! With downtown decked out in holiday cheer, come and join us for the celebrated Parade of Lights with a special visit from Santa himself!
Holiday Boutique
Step into the festive wonderland of Frosty’s Holiday Boutique, where creativity and cheer collide! This event is typically a two-day event that coincides with the Holiday Frolic. Over 30 vendors of all ages and backgrounds fill the Senior Center with their artistry and offer the community a handmade and heartfelt option for gifts for the Holiday season. From intricate jewelry to cozy knitwear, whimsical ornaments to aromatic candles, there's something to enchant every visitor. Whether you're seeking the perfect present or simply embracing the spirit of the season, our Holiday Boutique is a magical celebration of craftsmanship and community.
