Community Grant Scoping Meeting for EPA Waterfront Grant Application

The City of Martinez has recently started the application processfor a large federal grant that would benefit the Martinez Waterfront and help fund implementation of the Waterfront Marina Master Plan recently approved by the City Council and California State Lands Commission.

The grant the City is pursuing is theEnvironmental Protection Agency’s “Environmental and Climate Justice Community Change Grants Program.” Thisgrant program looks for projects that will positively transform communities that have been impacted by climate change, legacy pollution, and historical disinvestments.

The City is inviting the public and community organizations to attend a Scoping Meeting for development of the grant application.This Scoping Meeting will be held on Thursday, August 1st, at 6pm at the Martinez Yacht Club. The meeting will include a presentation on the grant’s requirements, the projects the grant could fund, a site-walk of selected Waterfront locations, and more information on how community organizations can become involved and potentially partner with the City on the grant application.
